How many colors may I use? to top

This will depend on the type of product you are considering. Most promotional products make use of the impact of the product with a simple, bold graphic. Fewer colors not only cost less, but also are usually cleaner and more visually appealing.

Exceptions are full-color artwork on labels and larger pieces such as magnets, calendars and puzzles.

A business card will do for some logos; generally, however, the better the artwork or photo, the easier it is to work from, especially in the case of screenprinted or laser-engraved logos. The highest quality artwork, high resolution scans (300 dpi or better) and "vector" artwork are most likely to give the result you want. Artwork requiring cleaning, adjustments, or redrawing will add expense to your project. Below are guidelines for providing artwork.

Files may be compressed as .zip files for Windows.

Artwork files smaller than 500 k may be sent as an attachment to an email. Large, high-resolution artwork may be sent on floppy disk, Zip disk or CD, in either Windows or Macintosh format.

Image files may be sent as jpeg, tiff, or eps. Gif files can be used as the basis for re-creating artwork.

We can accept files from the following programs:
CorelDraw 9 for Windows
Corel PhotoPaint 9 for Windows
Illustrator 8 (Windows) or 10 (Macintosh)
Quark Xpress 4.1 or lower for Windows or Macintosh)
PageMaker 5.5 (Windows) or 7 (Macintosh)
Photoshop 5.5 (Windows) or 7 (Macintosh)
Microsoft Word 2000 or lower for Windows
Corel WordPerfect for Windows

Generally it takes two to three weeks to create a design, go through the approval process, and produce the final product. Many products have a longer lead time, up to 6 weeks. Talk with us about your project, and we can steer you toward the right product for your budget and deadline. We can shorten production time in some cases, depending on the design, the quantities, and the kind of artwork and product. To guarantee work in a shorter time may involve rush charges or other charges.

Screenprinting:

Screenprinting inks may be mixed to match any color, including Pantone colors for matching extablished company colors. Screenprinting inks, when properly applied and cured, are durable and resist fading. In some cases, before the ink is applied, a special process removed the color from the garment in the design area so the screen ink will be more vivid. This can be very effective on dark garments.

How is screenprinting priced?

Screenprinting is priced by the color, the number of locations on the garment, and the number of garments ordered.

For example, a one-color logo printed on the left chest of 50 tee shirts could be $1.40 per garment for the screenprinting; 2 colors on the left chest and also across the back could be $2.15 per location, total $4.30. Four colors (including process color) on the front of a tee shirt could be $2.80 per garment
.

NOTE: These are examples, and may not reflect current pricing. Please contact us for a quotation.

Four colors at least are needed for a photo reproduced in screenprinting. Often a fifth or sixth color will be used to bring out a particular color or shape, or to create lettering. The variations are many. Email us or fill out one of our online forms for information about pricing:
